Role Overview

The client is seeking a developer experienced in eCommerce, TypeScript, and Next.js to contribute significantly to both greenfield and ongoing projects. This role is crucial in driving the continued growth of their highly successful £100m+ business. The developer's work will have a direct and visible impact on customer-facing solutions, leading projects to success and enhancing the user experience for millions of customers. The client values a developer motivated to improve SEO and Core Web Vitals, solve complex engineering problems, and collaborate effectively with a talented team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support projects from conception to deployment, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Continuously innovate and optimize software solutions, staying at the forefront of technology and user experience.
  • Actively contribute as a team player, fostering a culture of excellence and collaborative growth within the engineering team.
  • Develop scalable web applications using TypeScript, Next.js, and React.
  • Utilize TypeScript in a microservice architecture and participate in cloud-based event-driven projects.
  • Ensure software quality through code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing front-end software.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a developer.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with React.
  • Proficiency in typescript
  • Experience with Next.js
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with agile practices and Git
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and practices
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Familiarity with Tailwind CSS
  • Knowledge of component-based libraries/frameworks (e.g., Vue, Svelte, Angular)
  • Experience with Vercel or Netlify
  • Understanding of Microservices architecture
  • Experience with restful API integrations
  • Previous experience as a front-end developer, ideally in an eCommerce setting
