Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL Server optimization, replication, stored procedures, and Change Data Capture (CDC). You will be responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing databases to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability. Job Description:

  • Database Optimization – Design and implement strategies for optimizing database schema and queries.
  • Stored Procedures – Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex stored procedures to support application performance.
  • Replication – Manage and monitor SQL Server replication environments with minimal latency.
  • Change Data Capture (CDC) – Implement and maintain CDC for real-time data tracking and processing.
  • Backup & Recovery – Develop and execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
  • Performance Tuning – Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues, including indexing and query optimization.
  • Security & Compliance – Implement security best practices, access controls, and compliance measures for regulatory adherence.
  • Database Migrations & Upgrades – Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades across SQL Server versions.
  • High Availability (HA) Solutions – Deploy and manage Always On Availability Groups, clustering, and database mirroring.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with development teams to optimize database interactions and streamline deployments.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Maintain up-to-date documentation on database configurations, troubleshooting, and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
  • Expertise in SQL Server versions 2012 and later.
  • Strong knowledge of database schema optimization for performance and scalability.
  • Proven experience in writing, optimizing, and debugging stored procedures and SQL queries.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server replication (transactional, merge, peer-to-peer).
  • Practical experience in Change Data Capture (CDC) implementation and management.
  • Deep understanding of query performance tuning, indexing, and execution plans.
  • Strong background in backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Solid grasp of database security best practices (encryption, access control, compliance).
  • Experience with Always On Availability Groups, clustering, and mirroring.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server monitoring tools (SQL Server Management Studio, Redgate, etc.).
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems for managing database schema changes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in a complex database environment.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-based SQL Server solutions (Azure SQL Database).
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Reporting Services (SSRS), or Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Familiarity with database automation using PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Previous experience in database migration from legacy systems.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) for database development and deployment.
