The client is seeking a versatile and personable Android developer with strong experience in Kotlin and the Android SDK, who is eager to explore new technologies and techniques as the platform evolves. In this role, you'll be contributing to one of the UK's top video-on-demand applications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, continuously enhancing a complex application, while also being capable of independently managing and delivering smaller tasks.

• Contribute to the planning, scoping, and delivery of work according to specifications.
• Develop clean, robust, and thoroughly tested code.
• Collaborate with the team to continuously improve a complex video-on-demand application.
• Own smaller pieces of work and ensure their successful delivery.
• Demonstrate an understanding of object-oriented code, good architecture principles, and software design patterns.
• Ensure high-quality, maintainable code is produced.
• Work with JSON data served via HTTP APIs.
• Utilize git for version control and code management.
• Stay open to exploring new technologies and evolving platform techniques.

• Proficient in Kotlin for Android development.
• Experience with Dagger for dependency injection.
• Strong knowledge of Coroutines and Flow for managing asynchronous tasks and reactive programming.
• Expertise in Retrofit and OkHttp for handling network requests and API integrations.
• Familiarity with GraphQL for efficient data querying and fetching from APIs.
• Experience using Room for local data persistence and database management.
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose for building native Android UI components.
• Working knowledge of ExoPlayer for media playback and streaming video content.
• Understanding of clean, object-oriented code
• Good architecture principles
• Familiarity with common software design patterns
• Creation of well-tested code
• Interaction with JSON data served via HTTP APIs
