Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will play a foundational role in building scalable data pipelines and services, with an emphasis on AI-readiness, automation, and cost-efficient solutions. The ideal candidate will not only have strong technical expertise in Snowflake, Python, and orchestration tools (e.g. Apache Airflow), but also be capable of working closely with business stakeholders and contributing to the long-term data strategy.
This person will be the first internal data engineering hire, working alongside a consultancy partner to take over key components of the current platform and lay the groundwork for future use cases and team growth.

Job Description:
- Build, test, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes within a Snowflake environment.
- Write Python-based DAGs and orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow.
- Collaborate with the existing engineering team and document the process. Build scalable solution based on predefined pipelines
- Work with business stakeholders to understand use cases and data requirements.
- Ensure data quality, logging, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms are in place.
- Design and implement reliable data integration patterns across different systems.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap and long-term in-house data engineering strategy.
- Support the migration of third-party pipelines to internal DevOps processes.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, Snowflake and Python.
- Proven experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data validation, and data warehouse best practices.
- Experience working with AWS environments and data pipeline deployment.
- Ability to reverse engineer and document third-party data solutions.
- Comfort with monitoring and maintaining production pipelines (logging, alerts, etc.).
- Self-starter with the ability to operate independently in a startup-like environment.
Optional/Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Exposure to LLMs, agentic AI systems, or AI-driven automation.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins or Azure Pipelines.
- Understanding of data dictionaries, metadata catalogs, and compliance frameworks.
- Leadership experience and/or interest in growing and mentoring a future team.
- Knowledge of the hospitality, travel, or recruitment industries.
